Miniplant.

Yesterday, UniCat's new miniplant was opened with a small ceremonial. Prof. Matthias Driess welcomed about 30 guests, and especially representatives of the supporting companies: Siemens, Endress+Hauser, and Schmidt and Haensch.

Prof. Wozny gave a short overview on the miniplant, its construction, and its working mode.

The miniplant will be used for the oxidative coupling of methane to ethylene.

The plant is 10 metres high and has about 1,000 metres of tubes. 5,000 metres of cables connect 15 pumps and compressors and transfer the data of approximately 150 sensors.
