Roald Hoffmann is an American chemist with Polish-Jewish
cultural roots. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1981 for
his tremendous work in the field of reactions processes.
Outside of his scientific work, he enjoys writing poetry and plays.

                                                           Carl Djerassi is also an American chemist, but with Austrian-Jewish cultural roots. He is regarded as one of the inventors of the birth-control pill. Since the mid-1980s, he has published poetry, short stories, novels and plays.
